چکیده
The issue of nitrate contamination has become increasingly acute, with the awareness their toxicity on human body and identification increasing sources contamination. Human intervention in natural nitrogen cycle serious repercussions that are manifested by its accumulation at one or more levels. use fertilizers agriculture is crucial to ensure food security, but unreasonable causes accumulations form ions plants, from here they reach intake, over a certain amount becoming harmful. aim this paper quantify nitrates present vegetables intensively consumed during spring, which if does not conform current recommendations EFSA EU, can major factors risk public health. studied material consists 5 types products spring: lettuce (Lactuca sativa), curly (or Lollo - Lactuca sativa var Crispa), Iceberg lime Iceberg), spinach (Spinacia oleracea) wild garlic (Allium ursinum). samples were collected different commercial locations (outlets): hypermarkets (H), open markets (OM), street trade (ST) house gate (HGT). highest concentrations found ST (4306 mg kg-1) HGT (4175.5 kg-1), salad (4306.5 (4602.75 OM (3469.25 kg-1). study findings suggest points may constitute danger health, ADI value exceedingly even 107.21% case purchased HGT. calls for drastic controls authorities.

Perchlorate and nitrate in leafy vegetables of North America.
In previous studies trace levels of perchlorate were found in lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) irrigated with Colorado River water, which is contaminated with low levels of perchlorate from aerospace and defense related industries. In this paper, we report the results of a survey conducted across North America to evaluate the occurrence of perchlorate in leafy vegetables produced outside the lower C...
متن کاملNitrate accumulation in leafy vegetables and its relationship with water
Present studies show that nitrate accumulation is the major factor influencing the water uptake by vegetables, but there is lack of knowledge on how the relationship between nitrate and water concentrations in different vegetable tissues. We determined nitrate accumulation and water content in vegetables of rape, Chinese cabbage, and spinach under different nitrogen levels (experiment I), 29 sp...
متن کاملNitrate in Leafy Green Vegetables and Estimated Intake
BACKGROUND Vegetarian diets are rich in vegetables. Green leafy vegetables are foods that contain considerable amounts of nitrate, which can have both positive and negative effects on the human body. Their potential carcinogenicity and toxicity have been proven, particularly after the reduction of nitrate to nitrite itself or just serving as a reactant with amines and/or amides in the formation...
متن کاملCyanide, Nitrate and Nitrite Content of Some Leafy Vegetables and Fruits Commonly Consumed in the South-East of Nigeria
The cyanide, nitrate and nitrite levels of some leafy vegetables and fruits commonly consumed in the South East of Nigeria were determined by standard analytical procedures. All the samples showed the presence of cyanide, nitrate and nitrite of varying concentrations. The mean value of cyanide ranged from 5.04±0.20 mgHCN/kg to 12.96±3.53 mgHCN/kg for vegetables; 2.79±0.16 mgHCN/kg to 6.07±0.16 ...
متن کاملStudy of nitrate status in some vegetables collected from Kermanshah vegetables markets
Background and Objective: Much of the nitrate consumption by humans in the daily diet comes from vegetables. The high concentration of nitrate in edible parts of vegetables causes toxicity, anemia for children and nitrous amine production in adults. Nitrous amine may results in cancer. Samples were collected from four main vegetable markets in Kermanshah city in summer 2019 to investigate the c...
